The Journey to Olive Travel Group: A Story of Mentorship and Growth
In May 2023, I was a struggling new agent and trying to figure things out. Kind of like many of you. No leadership, no guidance, no idea where to start. A 50-page guidebook, hundreds of videos that were 5+ years old, and a support system focused on the MLM part of the dollar sign. I was an old, lost soul, and I needed a coach. I needed something, or I was going to quit. Sometime in the middle of July, I stumbled onto my “call a friend.”
The Travel Agent Hub was a brand new Facebook page. Not a lot of followers. A small group of 200 to be exact, and I knew I would not get lost in the shuffle as I had on so many other pages. Olivia was a beautiful, bright leader of hope, and I wanted to get to know her. I wanted to be her. She always responded when I had a question, even if I felt it was dumb. Sometimes asking the same question more than once, she never made me feel bad for asking again. At the end of July, she posted a promotion where she would give one-on-one training for half price! I scraped all my nickels and dimes together, paid the money, and scheduled time.
In two calls, one hour each, we were able to build a brand, logo, name, email, website, and so many other things to build my future business. I was so grateful for her knowledge, patience, and our new friendship. After our second call, we just talked and talked. She said that things were a little overwhelming with the Facebook page, with so many wanting to join. I offered to help.
In almost a year, our teamwork has grown to over 10,000 in the group, 20+ posts a day, and a lifelong friendship. I had brought it up to Olivia numerous times that she needed to start her own host travel agency. When you joined what I dubbed “The Hub,” so many of you mentioned you were struggling and in the same predicament I was in a few months ago. I knew Olivia had so much patience! And she honestly wants you to win! You can't find that anywhere!
In December 2023, Olive Travel Group was formed. Working with her as long as I have, I wanted to help any way I could—ideas, thoughts, just making sure the newbies had the support they needed to grow their business. Dreams do become reality.
